HOUSE OF WONDERS
Renowned for its privileged location, a stone’s throw from the famous Jemaa El Fna square, the “Monceau” as connoisseurs use to call it, is the exclusive representative of “Les Collectionneurs” luxury hotel brand in Morocco. Created in 2002 in one of the most prestigious arabo-andalous palaces in the imperial city, this 10-room boutique hotel with an established reputation has continued to evolve since to gradually form this unique place, a veritable caravanserai of modern times and a leading jazz scene of the ocher city.
As an example, a couple of years ago Riad Monceau made the news by inaugurating the very first rooftop in the city. True “urban camp” suspended between heaven and earth, “La Pergola” has established itself as THE jazz scene of Marrakech in the span of a few months. A place now acclaimed by the “New Nomads” who like to come here for a break during the day, between 2 walks in the souk, or to chill and savor signature cocktails and Moroccan tapas with friends at night, on blues, jazz or even bossa nova sounds, depending on the program.
MONCEAU, A FAIRY TALE.
If so many people agree that the “Monceau” is a place like no others, it is probably because it is the result of a tremendous human adventure. Born about twenty years ago from my meeting with this extraordinary “maellem” that was my friend Abdellatif Lamselli, the riad has continued to evolve and transform since then, to become what I like to call a modern-day caravanserai. Simultaneously hotel, restaurant, rooftop, cooking school, the Monceau has finally found its definitive identity through jazz, which has become its true signature. All this generates a particular energy which, I believe, explains the success of Riad Monceau, Bistro Arabe and La Pergola. I hope you will appreciate it, and that the time spent with us will live up to your expectations.
